A day in grade 1/2

Both AM and PM students headed to grade 1/2 pods today. They helped us prepare by sharing with us what it is like to be a grade 1 student and showed us their journals, read us books, and some of us did some math. AM students joined in on the grade 4 farewell assembly and PM students with the rest of the school visited each pod to watch their film festival videos, while they watched ours.

Please note that report cards, folders, journals, and other stuff were sent home today. Please keep everything, including colored folders at home and do NOT send them back. Thank you!

Tomorrow is sports day. AM and PM students will attend at their regular times and both will participate in fun activities during their time at school.

Wednesday is our last day of school. It is an AM Kindergarten day. PM kindergarten is invited to attend the magic show in the morning with a parent at 9:00 AM. 

U is for...

The rainy weather inspired us to work on our final letter in our ABC books... U. U is for umbrella. We had centers as well and ready many books throughout the day - including some written by kindergarten students! We sent home a lot of stuff in the folders today, including art work and two journals. Please send the folders back to us tomorrow.

We hope to see you at our film festival at 6:15!

Magic Show - Wednesday, June 26
On the last morning of classes on Wednesday June 26th, PM kindergarten is invited to attend the magic show in the morning with a parent. We will inform you of the show time closer to the date. 

TMC and Flowers

PM Kinders went to TMC today where they traced their hands to make different animals and played with sidewalk chalk with their grade 8 buddies. AM students had gym and learned to make flowers using tissue paper and pipe cleaners. They turned out beautiful. We also had centers.

Thank you to our volunteers today for their help. 

The film festival is tomorrow from 6:15-7:45 PM. We hope to see everyone there!

N and Q

We are so close to finishing all the letters in our community books. We read The Kindness Quilt by Nancy Wallace and worked on the letter Q, which is for 'Quilt.'  We also worked on N is for North West, where we learned to draw a compass rose and talked about the four directions: North, South, East, and West. Both groups spent time outside as well.

PM Students are going on a walk tomorrow to Twelve Mile Coulee School tomorrow. Please dress your child for the weather with appropriate footwear (running shoes).

The letters L and Y

With the goal of finishing up our community ABC books, we worked on the letters L and Y today. L is for lollipops and Y is for yard.  Some AM students had art with Mr. Kelly where we read pigeon books by Mo Willems and drew our own pigeons in our visual journals. Other AM students had gym. PM students had gym as well. We also had centers and snack.
