Gymnastics

We started gymnastics in gym with Mr. Der today. We practiced safe ways of forward, backward, and sideways landing. The gym was set with benches and mats and we cannot wait to see what else we learn as EHS gymnastics progresses. We cut out printed pictures of our animals that we are researching and we glued them on the title pages of our research books. We also found interesting facts about our animals (bears, moose, wolves, owls) and wrote them down and drew a picture. Did you know that baby Grizzly bears/ cubs weigh the same as a can of pop? Did you know that owls are the strongest bird that can carry prey heavier for them? Both AM and PM classes were winners of EHS "We Are Canadian Kids" secret missions as the other pods had seen them completing their missions. We are very proud of ourselves and are now working on completing our second secret missions while also continuing to do our first.

- Ask your child what their current secret mission is.
- Ask your child what interesting facts (not regular facts) they learned about their animal today.
- Do not forget to complete home reading and read another book for 15 minutes.
- Practice cutting shapes and other images from newspapers and flyers at home.
- Fill out the "I Am Unique" questionnaire at home with your child and send it back to us by Monday, April 15. Please find a baby picture together as well and send it with the questionnaire as well. Thanks!

Please read carefully for important updates:

We are going to be creating our very first Eric Harvie School ice cream parlour in Kindergarten. We are looking for things like empty and clean ice cream containers (pint sized) with the lid, old plastic spice jars, ice cream scoops, pompoms, and other relevant things. Please feel free to email us if you have anything else you would like to donate.

- We sent home questionnaires about your child today. Please fill them out at home with your child and send it back to us by Monday, April 15. Please find a baby picture together as well and send it with the questionnaire. Your child will be sharing them with other students and we look forward to learning more about each child.

- We are in URGENT need of plastic yogurt or sour cream lids for an upcoming exciting project. Please send us any extras you may have by Monday. We are looking for standard size lids so please see picture below for measurements. Thank you!

- We are beginning to collect writing tools in our classroom (highlighters, pens, mechanical pencils, markers, sharpies, all writing tool lids, etc.) to recycle them. Please feel free to send us any dried up or no longer useable writing tools you may have at home. Thank you.
