Today, we explored vertical and horizontal lines with Mr. Kelly. We had centres where we had
an opportunity to participate in multiple activities. We read the book Questions and
Answers about Nature and learned many fun facts about nature,
such as what flowers need to grow. AM Kindergarten went to gym to develop their gross
motor skills while PM students used play doh to develop their fine motor muscles.
Mrs. Kinsman, our school principal, also dropped by in the afternoon to introduce
herself and read us a book.
- Ask your child what their favorite centre was today.
- Ask your child what are some ways we may be harming nature.
- Ask your child about making lines with Mr. Kelly.
Important Updates and Reminders:
- No school for AM Kindergarten on Friday, Sept 14. PM Kindergarten attends 8:25am-12:05.
- There is also no school September 20 and September 21 for all Kindergarten students.
- Snack time happens during centres. This means that your child may not choose to eat
everyday. Please remember to send one small snack to school that they can quickly eat.
- A reminder that city bylaw states that No Dogs are allowed on school grounds,
playgrounds and sports fields. While on a pathway, your dog must be on a leash.
- Picture day will be Monday, September 24th. - Please return completed forms back and folders back to us as soon as possible.
- Please do not cut across the field when bringing afternoon Kindergarten students
to school. At this time, all the other students are out in the field for their lunch recess.
The CBE safety protocol requires that parents only access the school on paved sidewalks
and stairways. We know that this poses a challenge for parents/caregivers with
strollers and would ask that you use the grass by the stairs at the front of the school
to access the compound. This will ensure that all students on the playground are safe
under lunchroom supervisor care, as they do not readily recognize parents
from strangers.
Thank you!
