Diagonal Monday

Mr. Kelly visited us today and taught us all about diagonal lines.

The AM groups visited the Eric Harvie School learning commons as well and Mrs. Carde, our librarian showed us how to use our library cards to sign out books. Students got to choose one book today and are looking forward to reading them at home. Please note that because we do not have set learning commons days, books can be returned when they are finished.

During our short week we will be focussing on literacy as well as reviewing some math concepts such as sorting and patterning.

Reminder that there is no school Thursday and Friday. Please book one 10 minute slot with your child’s responsibility teacher. The blue and yellow group is with Mrs. Khan. The green group is with Mrs. Watterson and the red group is with Mrs. Conley.

- Ask your child what their favorite centre was today.
- Ask your child what vertical, diagonal, and horizontal lines look like.
- Ask your child to describe their visit to the school learning commons.

Important Updates and Reminders:
Snack time happens during centres. This means that your child may not choose to eat everyday. Please remember to send one small snack to school that they can quickly eat.

A reminder that city bylaw states that No Dogs are allowed on school grounds, playgrounds and sports fields. While on a pathway, your dog must be on a leash.

Picture day will be Monday, September 24th.

Please return completed forms back and folders back to us as soon as possible.

Please do not cut across the field when bringing afternoon Kindergarten students to school. At this time, all the other students are out in the field for their lunch recess. The CBE safety protocol requires that parents only access the school on paved sidewalks and stairways. We know that this poses a challenge for parents/caregivers with strollers and would ask that you use the grass by the stairs at the front of the school to access the compound. This will ensure that all students on the playground are safe under lunchroom supervisor care, as they do not readily recognize parents from strangers.

Thanks!
