Picture Day

Today was picture day. We had arrival and big centres today where we explored different hands-on activities. We read the book Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak. We also journaled about our favorite thing about the fall season by drawing and used a combination of swirly printing and adding in some letters. We also learned a fall poem today.

- Ask your child to show you a combination of letters and swirly writing.
- Ask your child to tell you what they love most about fall.

Important Updates and Reminders:

- Scholastic book orders were sent today. Order online or using the forms included ASAP.

- We are looking for fake/silk flowers or fake plants for one of our upcoming centres. If you have extras at home that you would like to donate to our classroom, please send them with your child.

- We also need some small metal items (nuts, bolts, screws) for our loose parts collection. If you have extras at home that you would like to donate to our classroom, please send them with your child.
- We will acknowledge Orange Shirt Day on Monday, October 1st. Please wear an orange shirt to help us keep the discussion of residential schools happening each year.

- AM Kindergarten attends this Friday. No school for PM Kindergarten.

- The annual Eric Harvie Terry Fox Run is taking place on Friday, September 28.
Please note Friday September 28th, is AM Kindergarten. Only AM Kindergarten
students will attend this event. PM kindergarten will have their own Terry Fox run
on Thursday, September 27th in the afternoon. We are teaming up with
Twelve Mile Coulee School and Tuscany School this year.  Each school requires
at least 45 volunteers.  EHS requires 40 course volunteers who will be stationed
along the course (with an option of running) and five food volunteers.
Please see the Sign Up Genius for information and to volunteer:
- Snack time happens during centres. This means that it is an option and your child may not choose
to eat everyday. Please remember to send one small snack to school that they
can quickly eat.

- A reminder that city bylaw states that No Dogs are allowed on school grounds,
playgrounds and sports fields. While on a pathway, your dog must be on a leash.

- Please do not cut across the field when bringing afternoon Kindergarten students to school.

We appreciate your help!
