The King of the Birds

We realized our blog from yesterday did not upload properly. We re-uploaded it and it should now be up! Thank you!

Today was another busy day! We read the book "The King of the Birds" by Helen Ward and reflected on what our puppets looked like. We asked ourselves a very important question after being encouraged by the book- "How do we choose a king?" Students thought about what was special about their birds and independently drew a picture of their birds in their visual journals to show why they would be king/queen. Students had creative answers like, "My bird would be king because it is the..." strongest, kindest, most colorful, the one with the sharpest beak, wisest, etc. AM students had their gym and art day with Mr. Kelly and Mr. Der and PM students continued to practice songs for their peace assembly.

Tomorrow Friday, May 10 is AM Kindergarten. There is no school for PM Kindergarten.
We will be going for a community walk from 9:30am-10:30am before the grade 3/4 Peace Assembly where we will be in the audience.
