Bye, Bye, Butterfly!

Just like in the story we read earlier "Bye, Bye Butterflies" by Andrew Larsen, we released one set of butterflies in the morning and one set in the afternoon. It was exciting to watch them fly free, although some of them were reluctant to leave their current home and needed some encouragement from us. We noticed their wings and the colors visible on the outside when their wings were closed vs. when their wings were open. The afternoon group even had the opportunity to watch a butterfly try and get out of it's chrysalis, which was not a quick process. We are true Butterfly Scientists now.

We also worked on more secret writing for our dads, had centers and played outside.
